Man Hospitalized After Being Shot During Dispute in West Rogers Park, Chicago

During a fight in Chicago’s West Rogers Park neighborhood on Wednesday night, a man was shot and hurt.

Police say a 31-year-old guy got into a fight with a pedestrian at 8:40 p.m. while driving on busy Devon Avenue near Oakley Avenue.

Police say the man got out of his car, and a person on foot pulled out a gun and shot him in the rear end. The person who shot ran away.

Police said the person was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston and is in very bad shape.

The crime took place in the West Rogers Park, or West Ridge, neighborhood’s Little India district. This is a busy business area with lots of restaurants and shops.

No one was in jail as of late Wednesday. Detectives from the Belmont Area are looking into it.
