Race Day Live (BATON ROUGE, LA) – A suspected fentanyl distributor in Baton Rouge has been arrested, and thousands of deadly dosages of the drug and other narcotics have been removed off the streets as a result of an investigation.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Chadwick Chisholm, 55, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, on drug and firearm charges, including possession with intent to distribute marijuana, fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, black tar heroin, crystal methamphetamine, alprazolam, and tramadol.
Deputies have apparently been looking into Chisholm as a possible fentanyl distributor since November 2024.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies spent many hours monitoring Chisholm’s residence on N. Magna Carta Place in Baton Rouge, as well as making a controlled purchase of fentanyl from him. On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, they arrested him while carrying out a “knock” search warrant on his home and vehicle.
During a taped interview, deputies said Chisholm admitted to selling fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and all other narcotics he possessed. They stated that Chisholm told them he had continued to sell narcotics since being released from Federal Prison, and that the two firearms discovered were his, purchased on the streets.
Charges
Chadwick Chisholm is facing the following charges as part of this investigation:

- Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II Drug (Cocaine)
- Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II Drug (Crack Cocaine)
- Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II Drug (Black Tar Heroin)
- Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II Drug (Crystal Methamphetamine)
- Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Amphetamine Pills)
- Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule IV Drug (Alprazolam)
- Possession of a Schedule IV Drug (Tramadol)
- Operation of a Fentanyl Clandestine Lab
- Felon in Possession of Firearm (2 counts)
- Possession of a Firearm with CDS (2 counts)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Chisholm has been arrested multiple times on drug-related offenses:
- He was convicted of possession of cocaine in September of 1990. His parole ended in January of 1994.
- He was arrested again in May of 1992 for possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, but this charge was dismissed.
- He was convicted under DEA Case #GP-92-0031 for an arrest in April of 1992.
- He was convicted in October of 1994 for conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute cocaine (4kgs) and was sentenced in December 1994 to 292 months, 5 years special parole, and $100 fine.
