According to a new forecast from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), egg prices in Michigan and across the U.S. are expected to increase by 41% by the end of 2025.
Why Egg Prices Are Increasing?
A major reason for the price spike is an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).
The USDA reported that about 18.8 million commercial egg-laying chickens were affected by HPAI in January 2025.
The good news is that poultry prices are expected to remain stable throughout 2025.
