Michigan Egg Prices Will Look Cheap Compared to This Shocking Change

It’s getting harder to afford everyday essentials at the grocery store.

Recently, you’ve probably noticed that the price of a dozen eggs has gone up — but those current prices might seem cheap compared to what’s coming in 2025.

Michigan Egg Prices Expected to Rise in 2025

Right now in Michigan, the average price for a dozen eggs is about $6.

Friends in northern Michigan have said they’ve paid up to $10 for a dozen eggs, while I was lucky to find two dozen for under $3 each in Grand Rapids.

According to a new forecast from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), egg prices in Michigan and across the U.S. are expected to increase by 41% by the end of 2025.

Why Egg Prices Are Increasing?

A major reason for the price spike is an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).

The USDA reported that about 18.8 million commercial egg-laying chickens were affected by HPAI in January 2025.

The good news is that poultry prices are expected to remain stable throughout 2025.

Eggs Aren’t the Only Prices Going Up

Eggs aren’t the only food items expected to get more expensive in 2025. Here are some other products that could see a price increase soon.
