Migrant wanted for allegedly attempting to kill another migrant in Cheektowaga

BUFFALO, NY— Cheektowaga Police are seeking for a migrant who lives in Erie County and is accused of attempting to kill another migrant over a woman quarrel.

According to authorities, the suspect is still at large and is regarded to be armed and dangerous as of Friday night.

Police were dispatched to the Quality Inn on Genesee Street on Sunday after receiving a complaint of a guy at the front desk bleeding from the head. According to police, the suspect arrived to the hotel, pulled out a rifle, and shot the victim. The gun misfired, and the suspect pistol-whipped the victim before fleeing, according to authorities.

The victim will recover. According to police, the suspect was sleeping at another migrant housing facility, the Red Roof Inn in Amherst. Cheektowaga police said they learned a day later that both males had been removed from the local migrant housing program.

DocGo, the business that manages the housing program, said it quickly alerted law authorities after this occurred and confirmed that both males were removed from local housing.

The suspect is still on the loose as of Friday night.
