Minnesota is facing another dangerously cold day on Tuesday, with extremely low temperatures and plenty of sunshine.

The day will start bitterly cold, with temperatures in the teens and 20s below zero. Wind chills will make it feel even colder, dropping to 25 to 40 degrees below zero.

Afternoon Temperatures and Wind Chills

By the afternoon, temperatures in the Twin Cities metro will reach around 2 degrees, but the wind chills will keep it feeling much colder.

Across Minnesota, temperatures will vary between single digits and below zero.

Despite the harsh cold, there will be plenty of sunshine throughout the day. Winds from the northwest will range from 5 to 15 mph, adding to the chilly conditions.

Tuesday night will bring even colder conditions, with lows dropping to the teens and 20s below zero statewide.

A cold weather advisory is in effect for the Twin Cities metro area from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Clouds will stick around into Wednesday afternoon before clearing up for a sunny Thursday.

As the week continues, temperatures will slowly rise, reaching the 30s and 40s by the weekend.
