Florida – A mother from Florida has been accused of enlisting the assistance of her son, who was a teenager at the time, in order to rob a guy with whom she was having sexual relations.
Following her arrest on Tuesday, Linda Maria Palacio, who is 39 years old, was charged with felony burglary as well as grand theft.
Additionally, she is being charged with misdemeanor offenses, which include resisting arrest and contributing to the delinquency of a minor juvenile.
According to an arrest warrant, Palacio is accused of employing her teenage son to assist her in breaking into the apartment of her girlfriend in order to steal a jar that had $1,300 in cash and a box of smokes that cost $200.
Little Havana, which is located in Miami, was the location where the alleged burglary took place on November 13, according to the Miami police department.
It is believed that Palacio and her son, who was apparently between the ages of 13 and 15, were the ones who forced the door of the apartment open.
The warrant stated that the teenage accomplice, whose face was hidden by a towel, was caught on a Ring video reportedly forcing the door open and allowing his mother to enter. The footage was captured by the Ring camera.
Palacio, who was also wearing a mask, is said to have covered up the camera as well; however, this did not occur before the camera caught her demonstrating to her son where the jar of cash was located.
He was described as having an on-again, off-again sexual relationship with Palacio for around ten years. The victim, who was not named, was described as having this relationship.
According to the warrant for his arrest, he was the one who claimed that Palacio was responsible for the crime.
During the week of January 7, the mother and boy were both brought into custody and questioned by the police.
The statement that the son supplied was not made public because he is a juvenile, despite the fact that he provided it. Along with Palacio, he was not identified as a co defendant in the legal proceedings.
It has been alleged that Palacio began to raise her voice and become uncooperative when she was faced with the Ring footage over the course of the investigation.
Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center is where Palacio is now being kept for his incarceration. Given the burglary charge, her bond has not yet been set at this time.
A hearing about the misdemeanor charges against her is scheduled to take place on Friday.
