The video captured the Bensons seated at a table indoors. At a certain moment, Kraig Benson stepped outside, lit a cigarette, retrieved a firearm from his wife’s Chevrolet Tahoe, and made his way back to the bar.
At 9:19 p.m., the video captures him coming back to the table with his wife in the center of the bar. He draws the weapon from his waistband and fires at her head while the crowd rushes to escape. She tumbles from her bar stool to the ground, and he points the gun across the bar at the bartender, firing as he backs away toward the entrance.
Benson unleashes another barrage at his wife while she is on the ground, then turns his weapon on the bartender, hitting him three additional times as he also lies on the floor by the entrance.
The assailant places the weapon on the counter and departs in the Tahoe. A swift arrest followed the sighting of a Tahoe with a flat tire navigating the highway erratically in Missoula County.
During the proceedings, he took the stand to speak on his own behalf.
During the sentencing, he expressed his remorse, according to KECI.
