A 19-year-old from New Jersey has been arrested for allegedly killing two women over the weekend, beating them to death inside a New York apartment just a few hours after the accused killer posted videos of themselves dancing on TikTok.
Shocking Crime Unfolds in New York
Alan “Alena” Abad was taken into custody on Sunday and charged with one count of first-degree murder, authorities announced.
According to a news release from the Spring Valley Police Department, officers responded around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, to a request for a welfare check at an apartment complex on Gesner Drive. The building, located about 30 miles north of Manhattan, became the scene of a gruesome crime.
Upon arriving, first responders entered the apartment and discovered two adult females with severe head injuries. Authorities have not publicly identified the victims.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to Westchester Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Arrest and Investigation
Following a preliminary investigation, police identified Abad, a resident of Westwood, New Jersey, as the prime suspect. Authorities arrested Abad within 24 hours of the attack but have not disclosed the location of the arrest.
After the arrest, Abad was transported to the Rockland County Jail for processing. The suspect was arraigned on the murder charge and remanded back into custody. Authorities have not yet disclosed a possible motive for the attack but have confirmed that the victims and the suspect knew each other. Officials also assured the public that this was an isolated incident, stating there is no ongoing threat to the community.

TikTok Videos Before the Murders
In the hours leading up to the brutal attack, Abad posted multiple videos to TikTok. The clips showed Abad dancing outside to various songs, seemingly carefree. In a final video, Abad is seen eating pizza, with an older woman sitting in the background. It remains unclear if the woman in the video was one of the victims.
Authorities Dismiss False Reports
In response to various reports and social media speculation, police issued a statement clarifying that no firearms were involved in the killings.
“There were no firearms involved, despite earlier posts and reports,” the department stated in a press release.
Background on the Suspect
According to a report from the Daily Voice, Abad is a biological male who identifies as female. The suspect’s social media presence has raised significant attention following the murders, as investigators work to piece together the events that led to the fatal attack.
While police have not revealed further details about the nature of the crime or Abad’s relationship with the victims, online discussions and media coverage have intensified, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding the case.
Community Reaction and Legal Proceedings
The local community has been left in shock following the tragic killings. Residents of Spring Valley and Westwood have expressed disbelief, struggling to comprehend how such violence could occur.
Legal proceedings are underway, and Abad remains in detention. The next court hearing is expected to provide more details about the case, including any additional charges that may be filed.
As the investigation continues, authorities urge anyone with information about the case to come forward. The tragic deaths of two women have once again highlighted concerns about violent crimes and social media behavior.
