Police have published a fresh video of a teenager driving at nearly 140 miles per hour.
The video provided by CBS Detroit shows Kiernan Tague driving recklessly fast in the days leading up to the tragic incident. CBS News Detroit got the horrifying video and a thorough police report after filing a FOIA request.
According to investigators, the adolescent was driving over 100 mph on a residential street in Gross Pointe Farms when he lost control in November.
Flynn Mackrell, his companion of 18 years, died in the crash.
Tague’s mother told police that her son was abusive and she was terrified of him. The police report reveals several complaints concerning fighting and speeding.
As we initially reported on Wednesday, authorities believe the teen’s mother was using the Life 360 app to track his driving. The victim’s family is also seeking charges against the mother since she was aware of the danger yet did not remove the keys.
