North Texas – Two large systems are on the way for next week, bringing the coldest temperatures of the season thus far.
PTC Nineteen was founded in the Caribbean. The most recent NHC track indicates that it is traveling west into the Yucatán, but no other details are provided. They’re probably waiting for further information, but most major models and ensembles are currently bringing it into the eastern Gulf of Mexico, maybe into Florida. Historically, this might be substantial in November. There is no threat to the Western Gulf States.
The next two mornings will have chilly starts! Turn on the heaters or light the fireplace.
The first storm system is expected to arrive next week, bringing a Pacific air mass behind the front. This implies that colder air will not arrive until the Arctic front later this week. Even while the dynamics promote more organized and severe storms, instability looks to be limited, implying that the severe potential is modest at this time. We will notify you if this changes.
Finally, the stronger front and a dose of colder air will arrive late in the week, with Thursday and Friday mornings potentially being fairly cold. We’ll have to see if our first area-wide freeze occurs next week with more consistent model predictions.
Following the more powerful northerly cold front late next week, we could see temperatures near freezing for the first time this season. This is quite close to our historical norm for the first freeze date.
7-Day Forecast: Cold mornings, gradual warming, and significant changes next week, including two fronts and rain/storms.
