NORTH TEXAS – Tuesday was mild and cool, and high temperatures were about average. However, by Wednesday, high temperatures are expected to rise 15 degrees above average, just in time for a front that will bring much cooler weather on Thanksgiving Day.
In the next twenty-four hours, winds from the south will bring in more rain. This means that there will be more clouds on Wednesday and Thursday. Over the next few days, winds could reach up to 30 mph.
On Thanksgiving Day, a front will move through the area bringing cold air from Canada and strong winds from the north. It will feel even cooler because of the wind. The wind chill will make it feel like it’s near 30 or 40 degrees outside. Also, it will be cloudy in the morning on Thursday, but it will gradually clear up during the day.
Thursday night will be cooled by radiation, which will make Friday morning very cold. It seems likely that North Texas will get the coldest air of the season. This is why the First Alert Weather Team sent out a First Alert about the chance of a first freeze across the whole area. Make a plan now for how you will take care of any plants and animals that need it.
After this weekend, another dry front will keep temps below normal for the next week. In terms of next week, there is a chance that it will rain again.
