Philadelphia Authorities Deport Mexican Man Wanted for Domestic Violence Charges

PHILADELPHIA –

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) removed Serafin Leon Rojas, a Mexican national with a final order of removal, to Mexico on Feb. 4. Leon is wanted by Mexican law enforcement authorities on domestic violence charges.

“The removal of Serafin Leon Rojas demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that criminal aliens face justice,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane.

Leon was first apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol near Laredo, Texas, for entering the United States without inspection or parole. He was issued a notice and order of expedited removal, charging inadmissibility, and was deported to Mexico on July 23, 2016.

Following his arrest, the individual was processed by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in Philadelphia. Given the nature of the charges and the international aspect of the case, deportation was deemed the appropriate course of action. The individual was deported to Mexico, where he is expected to face legal proceedings related to the domestic violence charges.
