Pit Bull That Killed Woman and Injured 3 Others in Boston Attack Euthanized

The pit bull that murdered a lady in a Roxbury dog attack, injured her husband, and injured two police officers has been euthanized, Boston Animal Control authorities confirmed Tuesday.

Jeriline Brady McGinnis was mauled by a pit bull named “Deuce” inside the first-floor flat of a Roxbury property owned by civil rights leader Jean McGuire soon before 5:00 p.m., Boston police said. McGinnis was transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

“She is a beautiful lady. A generous and compassionate person. McGuire described McGinnis as someone who loved animals. “I have lost my sister.” “She is a sister.”

McGinnis’ spouse was seriously injured but is expected to survive the mauling, according to McGuire.

The dog also bit two responding cops, leading another officer to shoot it. The dog was sent to Angell Animal Medical Center for treatment, but “his worsening condition and poor prognosis” led to the decision to euthanize him, according to Animal Control.

Both officers were transferred to a nearby hospital and are likely to be OK.

Surveillance video obtained by Boston 25 News depicts the threat officers faced before three shots were fired on the dead-end roadway.

“I heard two shots and noticed that the dog was down. “About a minute later, or less, I heard a third shot,” stated one neighbor. “It was terrible.”

Three more pit bulls were removed from the home and are under the care of Boston’s Veterinary Medical Director.
