Race Day Live Florida, known as “The Sunshine State,” recently witnessed something very unusual – snow!
This rare event was caused by Winter Storm Enzo, which brought freezing temperatures, snow, ice, sleet, and freezing rain across the southern U.S.
Snow in Florida is a rare sight, even in the northern regions. Freeze warnings remain in place until today (January 25), affecting over two million residents.
Many people took the chance to capture and share their first experiences with snow on TikTok.
One heartwarming video that went viral was shared by Tammye Welch. In the video, her 67-year-old father, who had waited his whole life to see snow, made a snow angel.
He walked into their garden by the sea and enjoyed the moment. Tammye said this was a much-needed joy for her family, as they had lost her sister two years ago.
One TikTok user wrote, “Watching adults see snow for the first time is the purest thing I’ve seen.” Another added, “I’ve grown up with snow and always envied people living in warm places.
Now I realize it goes both ways.” Someone else shared, “My dad made his first snow angel at 70! I’m happy your dad could enjoy this moment too.”
In Pensacola, the Santana family also shared their excitement. Luis Santana posted a video showing how his family and their neighbors turned the snowy day into fun.
Without sleds, the kids used beach gear, skimboards, pool noodles, and even a kayak to slide down a hill. Luis captioned the video, “This is what happens when you have a blizzard in Florida!”

A Canadian viewer, used to snowy weather, shared their joy: “I’m so happy the kids could enjoy this weather at least once. They will remember this day forever. Bless you all from Canada.”
This rare snowstorm gave Floridians an experience they will treasure, bringing joy and excitement to families and kids alike.
