Roommates Charged with Abandoning Four Dogs at Taylor County Property

1 min read

Taylor County, Texas – Four dogs were reportedly left behind by their roommates at a property in Taylor County.

Ryan Sims, one of the roommates, was arrested for animal cruelty on Saturday about the allegations.

Court documents indicate that four dogs were discovered abandoned when officers responded to a residence in March 2023.

“The dogs were notably thin, with visible bones,” the documents state, indicating that officers discovered the animals in “poor condition” and that the property emitted a strong odor of urine and feces.

The property manager indicated that they had recently issued notice to vacate to two tenants, including Sims, in February.

Both roommates acknowledged that they each owned two of the dogs and also confessed that they had not visited the residence in weeks.

BigCountryHomepage.com has decided to withhold the name of the other roommate since he has not been charged with any crime.
