Scattered Thunderstorms Expected Across Multiple States This Afternoon

It was nice to get away from the high heat on Wednesday, but today it’s going to be humid like it is in the summer again.

Today, a front will move north through South Carolina, letting in more moisture and a few showers.

Early this afternoon, showers and storms will start, and they should last until early evening.

It’s that time of year again: damaging winds and flash flooding will be the major problems.

From then on until early next week, it shouldn’t rain from Friday on.

As a dome of high pressure forms over the southeast U.S., it will bring less rain and more heat.

Highs will be around 90 degrees today and in the mid-90s on Friday. On Saturday, they will be in the upper 90s and low 100s until at least next Tuesday.

Taking into account the humidity, the highest heat index numbers will likely stay between 105 and 110 for a few days.

People and animals will feel sick if this kind of heat lasts for days on end.

Do hard things in the early morning and late evening, drink a lot of water, and dress appropriately for summer.

Soon, in the second half of next week, it will start to get cooler and rain is likely to return.
