Scorching Week Ahead: Nashville Braces for Triple-Digit Heat Through July 23rd

Due to the fact that temperatures in Nashville are expected to reach triple digits by Tuesday, July 22nd, locals are being warned to get ready for an extended heat wave that will continue throughout the rest of the week. As temperatures are forecast to rise into the low 100s, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory beginning at 11 a.m. on Tuesday and continuing until 8 p.m. on Thursday. This advisory is in effect because the temperatures are predicted to reach dangerous levels.

It is possible that the heat index, which is a measurement of how hot it feels when humidity is taken into account, might reach 105 degrees Fahrenheit in certain regions, as stated by the National Weather Service. The combination of high humidity and intense heat will make it feel much hotter, particularly between the hours of midday and five o’clock, which is the time of day when activities that take place outside should be restricted. Those who are working outside or who are planning to travel on highways such as Interstate 40 or Interstate 24 are strongly encouraged to take the required precautions.

On Tuesday afternoon, residents of Nashville can anticipate partly cloudy sky and hot heat, with highs hitting 98 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the day. There will be clear skies and temperatures that will reach a high of 98 degrees Fahrenheit by Wednesday. On Thursday, temperatures will remain high, reaching around 96 degrees Fahrenheit, before returning to slightly cooler conditions on Friday.

Extended Forecast (July 22 – July 27):

  • Tuesday, July 22nd: Highs near 98°F, Heat Advisory in effect.
  • Wednesday, July 23rd: Highs near 98°F, mostly clear skies.
  • Thursday, July 24th: Highs near 96°F, remaining hot.
  • Friday, July 25th: Slightly cooler with highs near 96°F, chance of thunderstorms late.
  • Saturday, July 26th: Highs around 95°F, thunderstorms likely.
