Several traffic alerts were issued on Tuesday as the biggest storm of the season moved through major areas across Utah.
The live video below shows current road conditions across Utah.
Alerts were issued Tuesday morning for the following counties:
- Davis
- Salt Lake
- Utah
- Weber
Most roads were wet and slushy, and drivers were urged to slow down and use caution. By 9:30 a.m., the Utah Highway Patrol reported over 50 crashes across the state.
Warmer temperatures in northern Utah over the past few days have helped prevent the worst driving conditions.
The UDOT Traffic Operations Center said that higher ground temperatures and plow crew pre-treatment had kept the snow from sticking to the roads.
UDOT warned that eastern Davis County could experience moderate to heavy snow showers, affecting commuters, while the southern Salt Lake area is expected to have mainly wet roads.
The Traction Law is currently in effect for SR-190 and SR-210, which lead to Big and Little Cottonwood canyons. Both canyons are expected to get up to 10 inches of snow today.
A Traction Law previously in place for both directions of Parleys Canyon has been lifted but could be reinstated at any time.
