Spirit Airlines Announces New Routes in Tennessee and South Carolina After Bankruptcy

Spirit Airlines is expanding in a big way, adding 40 new routes this spring after finishing a four-month bankruptcy restructuring.

Starting in June, the Florida-based airline will offer nonstop flights from Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA) in Tennessee and Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) in South Carolina to Fort Lauderdale, Newark, and Orlando, with one-way fares starting at just $50.

In May, Spirit will also add 34 more routes from cities like Nashville and Baltimore.

Despite facing a $1.2 billion loss last year, the airline hopes this expansion will help strengthen its recovery and provide more affordable travel options for customers.
