The last Social Security Disability Insurance payment for this month will be made on August 28. Then, SSDI recipients will have to wait until September 3 to collect their payments.
Of course, only some SSDI beneficiaries are eligible for the first payment in September. The remainder of them will have to wait until the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of September.
SSDI eligibility begins on September 3
The Social Security Administration will release the next SSDI payments to those disability benefit beneficiaries who meet any of the two following conditions:
While receiving SSDI, recipients must also be receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a low-income benefit.
Beneficiaries must have received Social Security Disability Insurance benefits before May 1997.
Those handicapped recipients who do not qualify for Social Security handicap Insurance on September 3 must pay particular attention to their birth dates. This is how the Administration handles Wednesday payments.
SSDI payments on Wednesdays
Depending on whether your birthday falls earlier or later in the month, you may receive money sooner or later. For example, if you were born before September 11th, your next disability payment will be issued on September 11th.
In case you didn’t know, this group of beneficiaries will receive their August payment three days before it is due. If your birthday falls between 11 and 20, the second phase of payout will be on September 18.
If you were born after the 20th, your last payday will be September 25. SSDI recipients receive an average benefit of $1,538. If you were a very high earner for 35 years or more and had occupations covered by SSA, you may get up to $3,822 if you filed as late as feasible.
Keep in mind that beneficiaries with extremely low incomes can qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI). This is a federal stipend that helps pensioners and disabled people make ends meet.
