Social Security makes monthly payments to qualifying SSDI participants. However, these disability payments are not limited to workers. Some family members, such as wives and children, may also get a monthly payment on the worker’s record.
In actuality, as of July 2024, the Social Security Administration claims that the average benefit for eligible spouses is around $421 and $491 for eligible children.
What is the average SSDI payment for workers with disabilities?
The most recent Monthly Statistical Snapshot for July 2024 revealed that Disability Insurance claimants receive an average payment of approximately $1,538. It has climbed since the prior report for June.
Some SSDI participants may have been eligible for the maximum disability benefit payout in 2024. This can present them with a payout of up to $3,822 this year. Here are the prerequisites for receiving $3,822 from SSDI:
To qualify for disability benefits, claimants must have worked for 35 years, worked in SSA-covered jobs, filed when eligible, and earned the taxable limit for 35 years.
SSDI payment dates for workers, spouses, and children
Disability Insurance payout dates are the same for employees, spouses, and children. In September, disability beneficiaries have three paydays remaining.
For example, if you were born between the first and tenth, your Disability Insurance payment will be delivered on September 11. If your birthday falls later in the month, you will also receive your payment later.
The final SSDI payment will be made on September 25 to people whose birthdays fall between the 21st and 31st of any month. Between these two dates, there will be a Disability Insurance payment on September 18.
Of course, your birth date must be between the 11th and the 20th, regardless of the month. If you are on SSI or SSDI, your next payments will be on October 1 and 3, respectively.
