Suspect in a String of Gun Robberies Was Caught After a Chase in Ohio

HICKSVILLE, Ohio — Police in Hicksville, Ohio, arrested a suspect early Thursday morning after a car chase turned into an armed robbery.

Around 3 a.m., someone broke into Phil’s One Stop near the middle of town with a gun. The Hicksville Police Department was called to the scene. Police say the worker was threatened with a gun.

The suspect, who was later named as 24-year-old Octavious J.H. Roberson from Fort Wayne, led police on a 3-mile chase before crashing his car, according to Hicksville police. Then Roberson lost control of his car, which flipped over several times before he was thrown out of it.

He was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment and then put into the Allen County Jail. He is being held in jail while he waits to be sent back to Ohio on charges of armed robbery. More charges are coming.

In a press release, the Huntington County, Indiana Sheriff’s Department said there is proof that Roberson is connected to several thefts in Indiana and Ohio, including an armed theft that happened at a CITGO gas station in Andrews, Indiana, on November 7. Roberson was also thought to have been involved in a Nov. 12 armed robbery at a gas station in Liberty Center, Wells County, Indiana.

We are still looking into this.
