Teen Accused of Rape Arrested with Painters Mask and Latex Gloves on Path to Murder Ex-Girlfriend and Her Family, Police Report

Matthew Robert Austin, 18, is already being charged with raping a 14-year-old girl. He was arrested in Oklahoma for a different crime after police said they found him with latex gloves and a painter’s mask in a Home Depot bag. He was planning to stab his ex-girlfriend and her mother.

Law&Crime got a copy of an arrest warrant affidavit on Monday that describes the claims.

Court records show that Austin was taken by deputies from the Norman Police Department after some of his friends told police that he was talking about “harming his ex-girlfriend and family.”

The affidavit says that Austin was stopped on July 18 near the house of his ex-girlfriend. He was found with “a Home Depot sack containing latex gloves and painter’s mask.”

Matthew told the police that he had threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and her family. He also told them that he was being investigated by the Moore Police Department for allegedly raping a different 14-year-old girl.

The document says, “Matthew admitted to having sex with the 14-year-old but said he thought she was 19.”

A warrant for Austin’s arrest from August 1 says that on July 14, the mother of a 14-year-old girl, who was only named as “TL,” called the Moore Police Department in Oklahoma to say that Austin had raped her daughter.

The mother showed the cops text messages between Matthew and TL from the time they met to the time they broke up.

Police said the victim told them in a forensic interview that she met Matthew at church and that they swapped numbers while she was eating at a restaurant where he works.

Austin told the police that he was 16 years old. He was born in November 2005, which means he is 18 years old.

In July, TL said Austin had “gone to her house, forced himself on her, and raped her.”

Austin told her “Everything would be okay and not to tell anyone because of their age and it needed to be a secret,” she told the cops.

A report from the Moore Police Department says that he “also told TL that he had done this before and that it was going to be OK.”

At a nearby hospital, a sexual assault nurse investigator checked out the girl. Police were also told that she talked to Austin about his social media pages, which showed that he was 18.

CBS station KWTV in the area said that witnesses told police that Austin told them in detail how he planned to kill his ex-girlfriend and her mother.

He is said to have told the witnesses that his ex was “having fun with his life” and that “he would just stab them so they wouldn’t scream.”

When Austin is said to have left the witness’s house, the witnesses called Norman Police, who quickly found him. Police told KWTV that Austin told officers that he was going to “paint his room or something along those lines” when they found him with the mask and gloves on.

The police thanked the people who saw Austin and called the police before it was too late.

“In this case, it might have kept something bad from happening,” Sarah Schettler, spokesman for the Norman Police Department, told KWTV.

Austin was arrested and booked for planning to harm and having marijuana on him. It’s not clear if he has hired a lawyer.

Austin was charged with rape second degree on August 2, according to jail records that are open to the public. A $400,000 bond was set for that charge. Besides the drug charge, he is also charged with planning, attempting, or conspiring to commit an act of violence, and a $25,000 bond has been set for that charge. Austin is also charged with making a plan to kill or seriously hurt someone and intimidating or threatening a state witness. The bond for each of those counts was set at $5,000.
