Police in Texas say a husband and wife planned to kidnap and kill the man their wife was seeing someone else.
Fox 26 says that Omar Bishtawi, 48, and Hana Alolaimi, 35, are both charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated violence.
The person Alolaimi was seeing was married to someone else. Court records show that the man ended the connection when his wife found out about it. Then, Alolaimi and Bishtawi are said to have planned to kidnap and kill the man.
A judge told Alolaimi and her husband in court, “It’s said that you are both married to other people and when the complaining witness’s wife found out about the relationship, the complaining witness broke up with the other person.”
The two men went to a Houston Chick-fil-A to wait for the victim, who was a Doordash driver with whom Alolaimi was having an affair. He had parked next to their car and told them to wait for him outside the restaurant.
The judge said that Alolaimi reportedly pointed to the victim, who then got into the car. He then told the woman he had to make a delivery and couldn’t leave, so she tried to drive off.
After hiding behind a curtain in the back seat of the car, Bishtawi jumped out and choked the victim while putting a gun to his head. Bishtawi shot the victim twice when he tried to get away.
The person was shot in the foot and thigh, but he was taken to the hospital right away and lived.
The man told KHOU that he broke up with Alolaimi three months ago because it was unhealthy, but she wouldn’t leave him alone and even showed up at his new place. The man who was raped said that Bishtawi told him he had to die because he had betrayed his wife.
Court records told Fox 26 that the crime happened at the same Chick-fil-A where Alolaimi and the victim would meet before driving behind the nearby Target to be alone for a while.
The couple has three kids, ages 13, 10, and 7. A woman who spoke in public during the probable cause meeting said this.
The bond for Bishtawi was set at $200,000. The bond for Alolaimi was set at $150,000.
