Police have caught a woman who they say took her kids from a bus stop in Virginia on Thursday, which led to an Amber Alert.

Late Thursday night, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office said that 55-year-old Shanice Davison was caught after a short chase on Interstate 495 in the Birmingham area of Alabama, which is about 600 miles southwest of where the theft happened. The police say her three kids were safe and not hurt.

Earlier in the day, the sheriff’s office said the kidnapping took place on Thursday around 7:45 a.m. ET. Police say the kids were caught in Fishersville, about 100 miles northwest of Richmond. They were waiting for a school bus outside of an apartment complex.

Police said the kids, who were between 6 and 10 years old, were in “extreme danger.”

It’s not clear if Davison has a lawyer.
