NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Three guys from out of state were arrested by the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) on Sunday afternoon. They were said to have made it to the top of the AT&T Batman building.
At 4:40 p.m. Sunday, someone saw the men on Broadway and called the MNPD. In a news statement, it was said that officers used binoculars to see “one of the men lying down on the circular AT&T logo and later next to a building spire.”
But when MNPD police went inside and to the roof, they still couldn’t find anyone. Neither could an MNPD helicopter. The police searched the building from floor to floor and finally found them in the men’s bathroom on the 24th floor.
The three people arrested were Jacob Thomas Cieszynski, 26, from Chicago; Chase Cooper Lester, 26, from Culloden, Georgia; and Ryan James McGarrity, 20, from Laguna Woods, California. They were charged with severe trespassing and disorderly conduct. Police found a crowbar and a screwdriver in Lester’s backpack and charged him with having theft tools.
According to a press release from the MNPD on Monday, one of the guys told officers that they heard the AT&T Building was the best place to see Nashville. So, they went inside and climbed the stairs to the roof.
The police also took several cameras from the guys.
