Two Mobile Men Arrested for Attempting to Sell Stolen Vehicle

MOBILE, Alabama — Mobile police arrested two individuals who reportedly attempted to sell a stolen automobile, according to officials.

According to a news release from the Mobile Police Department, Roy Carter, 44, and Lamont Francis, 42, were detained after officers were notified of a car reported stolen from the Walmart on Dawes Road on November 13.

Officers discovered that someone was attempting to sell the stolen vehicle later in the day.

“Through the course of the investigation, officers discovered the subject who was attempting to sell the vehicle was located in the 1000 block of Leroy Stevens Road,” according to an MPD release.

Carter and Francis were transported to the Mobile Metro Jail without incident, according to authorities.

They were both charged with first-degree receiving stolen items after the event. Francis was also charged with using/possessing drug paraphernalia and second-degree possession of marijuana.
