Race Day Live (Virginia Beach, VA) – A Virginia Beach court case reveals details of a disturbing incident involving a Hampton police officer who arranged to meet a prostitute for sex, only to have his car stolen during the encounter. The officer has since been fired from his position, but Hampton Police have not commented on the reasons for his termination.

The Incident

The officer, J’ron Harry, reportedly met 20-year-old Alexus “Dream” Copeland on an app. According to court documents, on December 30, 2024, Harry arranged a meeting with Copeland at an apartment in Virginia Beach, where he paid her $100 via Apple Pay for sex.

Court documents say that after spending time together in bed, the two agreed to shower together. However, when Harry went to the shower alone, he soon realized that his phone, wallet, keys, and car, which contained his police credentials, were missing. He immediately called the Virginia Beach police using a neighbor’s phone.

The Car Theft and Arrest

Virginia Beach Police were able to track down Harry’s vehicle in Norfolk, where two people were inside. One was Alexus Copeland, and the other was a man she claimed was her “baby daddy.” Copeland told police that Harry had agreed to let her use the car, though she admitted that she did not have permission to use the items in his wallet, including his credit cards.

Copeland was arrested and is facing several charges:

Charge Description
Grand larceny auto theft Stealing a vehicle
Grand larceny (over $1,000) Stealing property valued over $1,000
Credit card fraud Fraudulent use of credit cards
Prostitution Engaging in sex for money
Obtain credit card number (larceny) Stealing a credit card number

Despite the theft, Harry has not been charged in Virginia Beach as of January 13, 2025. However, he was terminated from the Hampton Police Division on January 7, 2025.

Ongoing Investigation

The investigation by Virginia Beach Police is still ongoing. Copeland is scheduled for a preliminary court hearing on March 28, 2025.
