A company specializing in fresh vegetables and salads has released a precautionary notice regarding certain washed and ready-to-eat broccoli florets that were distributed at Walmart locations across 20 states.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has reported that Braga Fresh has issued a voluntary advisory concerning one production lot of washed and ready-to-eat 12 oz. bags of Marketside Broccoli Florets, stemming from concerns about potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
An alert has been issued following the discovery of potential contamination during random sampling conducted by Texas Health & Human Services at a store in Texas, where one of several samples tested positive.
Braga Fresh stated no illnesses have been reported and noted that the product is past its ‘best if used by’ date and is no longer in stores, but said consumers may have frozen the broccoli for later use.
