Winter May Be Done As Michigan Prepares For 60 Degree Weather

I don’t know about you, but this winter here in Michigan has seemed particularly colder and longer than previous winters.

Although I always hope for a snowy late November and December, it always feels like January and February are the two longest months of the year, particularly because there’s nothing really to look forward to and the weather is so brutal.

We are pretty much locked inside our homes. So when we get the news that it looks like Spring may actually start on time this year, it gives me a little bit of hope that we won’t have any more snow storms to deal with.

According to the current temperature outlook from WWMT, it looks as though we could be on pace to no longer get any kind of major snow and start to warm up out there.

A recent graph that Will Haenni posted shows that the temperature outlook between March 10 and March 16 is above average, and although the lows could be down to the mid-20s at times overnight (which is normal for this time of year), we could see highs in the lower 60s.

No signs of true arctic air on the way in the extended outlook. Signs point to above average conditions dominating through next week, with possibly our first 60s of the year.

I’m ready for nicer weather, being able to stand outside for more than five minutes without wanting to rush back in, and a little bit of sunshine.

It seems there’s been a lot of negativity lately, and a little sunshine would go a long way, so let’s hope that this is the first sign that winter is behind us.
