Woman Killed in Collision with Unmarked Police Vehicle in Anne Arundel County

Baltimore — A 32-year-old woman died after being struck by a Maryland State Police vehicle in Anne Arundel County on Sunday evening.

According to authorities, an unmarked Ford Explorer was going north on Solomons Island Road at Route 50 when it collided with the woman, who had unexpectedly joined the roadway.

The motorist, a Maryland State Police officer, began providing first aid to the woman immediately following the incident and requested additional assistance. Anne Arundel County Emergency Medical Services pronounced the woman dead on the scene.

The trooper was not hurt in the crash.

The crash is still being investigated. MSP will carry out an administrative review of the case by protocol.
