Pennsylvania police say that a 14-year-old girl who they say stabbed her mother is now facing criminal charges.
According to a news release from the Pennsylvania State Police, the claimed stabbing took place at a home in Center Township around 10 p.m. on Saturday, November 9.
The 14-year-old girl stabbed her 41-year-old mother several times, according to the police. The mom was taken to the hospital, where state police said she was in serious condition.
Police in the state say the teen was arrested and charged with criminal attempted murder. The police did not say what the girl was doing, and the motivation was not clear.
It takes about 30 miles to drive northwest from Pittsburgh to get to Center Township.
