Washington state police say a lost 7-year-old girl was found after a fisherman heard her cries.
A news report from Clark County deputies says the girl was camping with her grandparents at Lake Merwin Campers Hideaway on August 11.
Deputies said she was last seen sitting alone across from her tent between 7:30 and 8 p.m.
Throughout the night, rescue teams kept looking.
Officials said that the mission went on after more search and rescue crews came in the morning.
Police say that at 8:45 a.m., a fisherman heard the girl crying from a “steep section of shoreline” and called 911.
Deputies said it took less than an hour for the police to find the girl and bring her on their boat. She was then reunited with her family.
The sheriff’s office didn’t say why she went missing.
It takes about 177 miles to drive from Seattle to Clark County.
