2 min read

The USDA has announced when SNAP participants will be able to get food stamps in September, as well as the possible maximum amounts. This will be the final month for these maximum quantities in the 48 contiguous states.

Furthermore, Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents aged 18 to 54 must work at least 80 hours per month to receive SNAP benefits for more than three months in three years. Those aged 53 and 54 will be subject to the same time limit rule. Let’s move on to the $766 payments for three-member families until September 23, 2024.

States send up to $766 for three members through September 23

In total, six states will provide up to $766 to families or homes with only three members. They are: Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, and Maryland.

  1. Alabama: September 4–23, case number
  2. Delaware: September 2 to 23 uses the first letter of the last name.
  3. Georgia: September 5–23 uses the last two digits of ID.
  4. Indiana: September 5-23, utilize the first letter of your last name.
  5. Louisiana: September 1-23, last digit of your SSN.
  6. Maryland: September 4-23, first three letters of your last name.

Who is eligible to receive $766 from SNAP in these states?

$766 is the maximum amount for a three-person household in the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia. This is the maximum amount that you can receive if you do not receive any discounts.

This may be achievable if you have no other sources of income or resources, or if your financial condition and personal circumstances allow the SNAP office to give you the entire amount. According to the CBPP, households with three people receive an average of $598.

September will be the last month in which three-person families can earn $766. This maximum amount will be significantly increased following the 2025 COLA. From October 1, 2024, it will be $768. As a result, qualifying individuals can receive an additional $2.
