On Sunday around noon, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a crash on Vegas Drive near south Jones Boulevard and west Washington Avenue.

According to LVMPD, witness comments and evidence at the site indicate that a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta was heading east through a parking lot when it suddenly raced into the apartment complex entrance. According to authorities, the automobile collided with a metal pole before crashing into the front gate.

The unidentified 26-year-old driver may have lost control of his vehicle due to a medical emergency, according to LVMPD.
