37-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead After Seekonk Highway Crash: Authorities Reveal

Race Day Live (Boston, MA) – A 37-year-old man from Massachusetts lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 195 in Seekonk on Tuesday, according to the district attorney.

Joshua Ponte from Fall River tragically lost his life in the crash late Tuesday afternoon, as confirmed by Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn in a statement released on Wednesday.

On Tuesday at around 5 p.m., troopers from the Massachusetts State Police, along with Seekonk Fire/EMS, were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident at mile marker 1.4 on I-195 eastbound in Seekonk, according to Quinn.

Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, a black GMC pick-up truck was discovered positioned behind the guardrail, leaning against the bridge support pillar and situated on the median side of the road.

Rescue teams discovered Ponte, the only person inside the vehicle. The individual was declared deceased at the location.

Quinn stated that the inquiry into the deadly accident is still in progress.
