Cooling Down: First Week of February Brings Lower Temperatures!

3 min read

Race Day Live  The warm weather from the weekend will stick around for a little while, but changes are coming soon.

The first full week of February 2025 will start with afternoon temperatures in the 60s and 70s, keeping things pleasant for many areas. However, parts of Southwest Nebraska will start feeling a cooldown in the next couple of days.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts because a cold front is on the way. It will begin moving south today, bringing a noticeable temperature drop by tomorrow.

Tuesday will also bring more cloud cover, with a small chance of drizzle in South Central Kansas. North Central Kansas might even see a wintry mix in some areas.

The biggest change on Tuesday will be the drop in temperatures. Afternoon highs will range from the 30s to the 50s, making it feel much cooler compared to the weekend.

By Wednesday, a slight chance of moisture will linger in Central Kansas, while Western Kansas will start seeing fewer clouds. Early Wednesday morning, there could be a light wintry mix as temperatures begin around freezing.

Once we get past the middle of the week, the weather will stay dry. Highs will bounce between the 40s and 50s, keeping conditions cool but stable.
