Wyoming’s Fight for Real Change: Challenging the ‘Expert Class’ in Politics!

Race Day Live  In the last election, we did something that many thought was radical: we listened to voters.

Throughout the campaign, we didn’t just speak at the people of Wyoming; we heard their concerns and understood what they wanted to see change.

We even went the extra mile to use polling to back up what we were hearing from everyday citizens. The results were clear, and they painted a picture of frustration with the way things had been.

What made this approach so unusual? For one, we broke from a common political tradition. It’s a pattern we’ve all seen: candidates run as conservatives, promising one thing, then shift to a moderate stance once they’re in office.

Instead of playing it safe, as many have before us, we followed through on our promises. We told voters what we were going to do, and then we started doing it, just like President Donald Trump did when he took office.

We identified five key issues that were on the minds of voters, and we worked to craft legislation that could address those concerns.

When the legislative session began, we were ready to take action. We weren’t here to play games or stick to the old ways of politics.

But not everyone was on board with this change. Some were surprised by our straightforward approach, which we quickly learned wasn’t the “traditional” way of doing things in Cheyenne.

When President Trump won his second term, he made it clear that he wasn’t there to keep the status quo.

He rejected the so-called “expert class” that has guided the country into what we see today: endless wars, an overburdened justice system, and a skyrocketing national debt of over $37 trillion.

He didn’t believe the elites had the answers, and neither did we. The voters who re-elected him made that very clear.

Here in Wyoming, we were proud to be at the forefront of that movement. Wyoming voters supported Trump’s bold agenda and rejected the establishment politicians.

We, too, heard that call. Wyoming has long been a place where residents value common sense and decisive action. We proudly stood behind that principle.

However, not all Republicans are on the same page. Some members of the McConnell/Cheney wing still cling to old ways of thinking.

We saw this when Sen. Tara Nethercott made a dismissive comment about our first five bills, saying that new members of the House might lack the experience to handle such bold legislation.

This was a clear attempt to slow down our progress and undermine the will of the people who elected us.

Her comments were condescending, and they ignored the fact that we were carefully listening to the voters who put us in office.

Our bills were designed with input from the people of Wyoming, and we stand behind them. It’s important to note that while we’ve moved forward with our agenda, we know there’s still work to be done. The Senate can delay progress, and it can water down our efforts to make real change.

But this is where the people of Wyoming come in. Every voter who helped us win has a senator, and those senators have the power to listen or ignore.

Now, it’s time for the people of Wyoming to make their voices heard. We’ve done our part by introducing common-sense bills based on voter input, and it’s time for the voters to hold their elected representatives accountable.

Reach out to your senators and the governor – it’s time to make sure they know that Wyoming is ready for bold change.
