Horror in Chicago: Teen Critically Injured in High School Shooting!

An 18-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting Tuesday afternoon near a school in Chicago’s Northwest Side.

The incident happened around 3:50 p.m. on the 6000 block of North Stevens Avenue, a small diagonal street between Pulaski Road and Keystone Avenue, just north of Peterson Avenue.

Gunman Shoots Teen from a Passing Vehicle

Police reported that the teen was standing on the sidewalk when a vehicle pulled up beside him. Someone inside the car pulled out a gun and shot him in the abdomen.

The victim was rushed to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Authorities said he is in critical condition.

Location of the Shooting

The shooting took place near the Super Prima Imports building at 6022 N. Stevens Ave. The building is across the street from a BP gas station.

The area is also close to Chicago International Charter School Northtown Academy, which is located at 3900 W. Peterson Ave. It was not immediately clear if the victim had any connection to the school.

As of late Tuesday, no suspects had been arrested. Grand Central Area detectives are currently investigating the case.
