In a harrowing incident that unfolded on a Sunday morning, tragedy struck as a driver, suspected of engaging in street racing activities, lost his life after a devastating collision on Interstate 795 in Owings Mills.

The individual identified as Leo Anthony Brooks Jr., aged 56 and hailing from Reisterstown, was at the helm of a 2017 Mercedes, heading northbound on I-795 in the vicinity of McDonogh Road. However, in a heartbreaking turn of events, Brooks lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a catastrophic crash with a 2006 Jeep Liberty.

Miraculously, the driver of the Jeep emerged from the collision unscathed, spared from the physical harm that befell Brooks. It’s important to note that authorities have confirmed that the driver of the Jeep was not involved in any form of street racing at the time of the accident.

Initial investigations by law enforcement revealed that Brooks was believed to have been engaged in a race with another vehicle, the identity of which remains undisclosed. Sadly, the collision proved fatal for Brooks, as he was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
