After a Report of Animal Abuse, Police Took 12 Dogs From the Danville Pet Resort

DANVILLE, Va. – A report about animal abuse at a local pet store led to the seizure of several dogs on August 15. The Danville Police Department is now looking into the case.

Police in Danville say that on Thursday evening, they went to the Danville Pet Resort on the 200 block of Ash Street to check on the animals’ well-being after getting a report of possible animal abuse and neglect.

After an investigation, 12 dogs were taken off the property because they were in bad health and some needed quick veterinary care.

Police say that the Danville Area Humane Society helped get rid of the dogs.
