A motorcyclist died after being hit by two cars that then drove away in Granada Hills on Thursday night. The Los Angeles Police Department is looking into the case.
A police statement says that officers were sent to the deadly accident at 9:50 p.m. at the corner of Devonshire Street and Louise Avenue.
When police arrived, they saw that a biker in his 20s was going east on Devonshire Street and failed to stop at a red light, hitting a car going north on Louise Avenue.
“The motorcyclist was ejected onto westbound lanes of traffic on Devonshire as a result of the collision,” the police said.
Shortly after that, a white SUV and a white sedan going west on Devonshire Street hit the bicyclist, according to the statement. Police said the owners of both cars did not stop, show their licenses, and help, as the law requires.
A rough video provided by the LAPD shows the young motorcyclist lying on the ground and trying to get up before being hit by cars.
The victim, who was not named, was declared dead at the scene of the crime.
The two drivers are still being sought by police, who are asking for help in identifying them.
