Teen Arrested After 5 People Found Dead in Washington State Home

3 min read

Five bodies were found in a home in Fall City, Washington, on Monday. A 15-year-old was arrested, according to police.

In the early hours of Monday, cops were called to multiple 911 calls of a “disturbance with gunfire.” When they arrived, they found the bodies of two adults and three children. The victims’ names were not released, but their families have been told.

As a deputy and spokesman for the sheriff’s office, Mike Mellis said at a news conference on Monday that the girls who were killed were “young teenagers.”

A girl was hurt too, and she was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The hospital told CNN on Tuesday that she was in “satisfactory” health.

A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office told CNN that the victims and the suspect are “likely members of the same family,” but the exact ties between them are still being looked into.

This does look like a family matter; it’s a case of domestic violence since there are guns involved and a young man who is now in big trouble. I saw young men with guns, “Mellis told reporters Monday.

Mellis said that the guns were used to kill the people and that there wasn’t a big fight with the suspect before he was caught.

According to his public defense lawyers, the suspect didn’t show up to his first hearing in youth court on Tuesday.

Casey McNerthney, a spokeswoman for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, said that prosecutors have not officially charged him because police have not yet brought the case to their attention.

Amy Parker and Molly Campera, the teen’s lawyers, said in a statement that their client was a “15-year-old boy who enjoys mountain biking and fishing and has no criminal history.”

“Again, the law says our client is presumed innocent of these charges, and we are thankful that there must be proof and evidence before a judgment,” the lawyers said.

The Gun Violence Archive says that there have been at least 427 mass killings in the US this year. Like CNN, they say that a mass shooting hurts or kills four or more people, not counting the shooter.

When a friend heard about the deaths, she said she was “in total shock.”

Lynne Trowern, the neighbor, told CNN station KING, “I keep crying.” “That’s why I need to leave here and go to my daughter’s house.” “I can’t stop seeing the kids’ faces.”
