BOSTON – A man from Ohio was sent to jail after thousands of files with sexual abuse of children were found at Logan Airport in Boston during a customs check.

As per a news statement from the Boston Justice Department, Thiago da Silva Pinheiro, 44, from Cincinnati, Ohio, flew from Ontario, Canada to Boston with the goal of going to Brazil in September 2022.

When Customs and Border Protection checked Pinheiro’s computer at Logan Airport, they saw what looked like child sexual abuse material. A first look at the tablet reportedly showed children as young as two to four years old in about 2,800 videos and pictures that looked like they were of child sexual abuse.

Pinheiro admitted to having child pornography and was given a five-year prison sentence on Friday, followed by five years of being closely watched while out of jail.
