Along with the strong low-pressure system that is bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to parts of Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, evening air that is much colder than usual is coming in.
Parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and maybe the southeast corner of Kansas and the southwest corner of Missouri will be our main worry tonight and tomorrow. The Northwest Corner of Arkansas is now under a freeze warning from the National Weather Service. The area around that watch area in Oklahoma is also under a frost advisory.
Both cold and freeze can hurt or kill plants and crops that are still in season. The same things might happen again overnight tomorrow in the same places as well as in south-central Missouri. Over the next few days, please make sure you protect your animals and plants.
Another piece of news is that strong low pressure will move from the Southwest to Texas and then northeast to the Plains. It will be more likely for parts of Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Nebraska, Missouri, and Iowa to have bad weather overnight Sunday into Monday. Tornadoes are also a possibility, along with big hail and strong winds that could damage things.
