DELTA, Ala. — A shooter found the body of a woman from Marsyville, Ohio, on Saturday in Alabama. She had not been seen since September.

In Cleburne County, the body was reported by a hunter around 11:30 a.m., and officers were sent to a spot five miles northeast of Cheaha State Park.

The remains were then identified by the county coroner’s office as those of Vendula “Wendy” Rose.

The Marysville Police Division said Rose was on a camping trip in Alabama more than nine hours away when she was last seen on September 24.

She said she would be back in Marysville on October 2, but she never showed up.

Investigators found her car parked at the Pinhoti Trailhead on October 8, not long after she was first reported missing.

Deputies in Cleburne County looked for Rose on foot along 36 miles of roads in the area. Helicopters and drones were also used to search remote areas.

The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office said that on Monday, they would put out an official statement about Rose’s return.

It said that anyone with questions or information should call the chief assistant at (256) 663-2277.
