A St. Joseph man who committed child sex offenses was given a 74-year jail sentence

RDL – Timothy E. Brown, who has been in the local news for the past nine months, was sentenced on Tuesday, January 7, in the Division 5 circuit courtroom of the Buchanan County Courthouse.

Following a trial on November 20, 2024, Brown was found guilty of Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy — Deviate Sexual Intercourse — Person Under 14 Years Old, Enticement or Attempted Enticement of a Child (Actor 21 Years of Age or Older and Child Under 15 Years of Age), Third Degree Child Molestation of a Child Under 14 Years of Age, and Sexual Misconduct Involving a Child Under 15 Years of Age (First Offense).

Brown was sentenced to 50 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on Tuesday, January 7, by Buchanan County Division 5 circuit court Judge Daniel F. Kellogg for the Statutory Sodomy charge, 10 years for the Enticement charge, 10 years for the Third Degree Child Molestation charge, and 4 years for the Sexual Misconduct charge.

Brown received a sentence totaling 74 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

In order to take Brown to the Missouri Department of Corrections under the supervision of Buchanan County Sheriff Bill Puett, a travel order was filed for him on Wednesday, January 8.
