An Illinois Man Was Arrested After Police Discovered Guns and Drugs Inside His Suburban Home

St. Charles, Illinois – An Illinois man was detained last week for reportedly possessing two dozen firearms and drugs.

Michael T. Sund, 43, of St. Charles, has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of a machine gun, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and illegal possession of a firearm without a serial number.

On August 30, authorities said Sund owned more than 200 grams of psilocybin, a psychedelic derived from particular types of mushrooms.

Sund also allegedly possessed more than 2,000 grams but less than 5,000 grams of cannabis, less than 15 grams of cocaine, and less than 50 grams of Xanax.

Law authorities allegedly discovered 24 guns at Sund’s home, including 17 unregistered firearms, three of which were unregistered machine guns.

Approximately 5,000 rounds of ammunition, as well as magazines and rifle parts, were seized.

Sund is being held at the Kane County Jail while his case is underway. His next court appearance is planned for Friday, at 9 a.m.
