Arizona teen Jarrett Brooks hasn’t been seen or heard from in more than a year. His parents say they think he is still living and was probably picked up by someone after leaving their house.
Laura and Brian Brooks said on “NewsNation Prime” on Sunday that they were hopeful that the fact that Jarrett has been seen in several states shows that he is still alive.
Lisa Brooks said, “Of course, it gives us hope.” “Knowing that people are looking for him gives us hope.”
Jarrett Brooks, who is now 17 years old, went missing on July 4, 2023, after being grounded for breaking a family car. Security video caught him taking a gun from the family safe and putting it away before he left.
At first, Brian Brooks didn’t think his son could hurt himself because Jarrett knew how to use guns and loved shooting. “That wasn’t how Jarrett thought.” “That kid isn’t him,” he said.
After search dogs lost track of Jarrett in a nearby field, his parents are sure that he was picked up by someone. Laura Brooks said that the area had been checked thoroughly but her son had not been found.
When people online talked about possible abuse at home, Brian Brooks said that the claims were “totally false” and that child protective services had looked into the situation and found that “this is a loving home.”
At the end, they wrote their son a note: “We love you, kid.” Lisa Brooks said, “We just want to know you’re safe and happy wherever you are.”
Since there have been no documented sightings in over a year, the case is now being looked into as a possible murder.
He has brown eyes and blonde hair and is 6 feet tall. He wore blue pants, cowboy boots, a baseball cap, and a black T-shirt that said “America” on the front when he was last seen.
