Henderson, Kentucky — An Evansville couple is under arrest after police say they were involved in an armed robbery at Schnute Towers that left one victim shot in the chest and abdomen.
According to police records, Jessica Robb and DeShawn Greenwell were detained after allegedly participating in an armed robbery at about 5:46 p.m. Saturday, in which the victim was shot twice.
During questioning at the hospital, the victim’s son claims his father distributes marijuana from the flat. The victim’s son said that as soon as Robb was allowed inside, two male suspects surged in with firearms, beat his father in the head with the firearm, and demanded he hand up his “weed and money.” The victim claims he thought the firearms were fake and reached over for a pellet gun, which resulted in him being shot twice.
The remaining two suspects in the alleged heist have yet to be identified.
When authorities questioned Robb, she admitted to the armed robbery plot. She claims she was familiar with the victim and that her trust was exploited to obtain entry to the flat. The other two individuals were alleged to be carrying guns. When asked what her share of the robbery would be, she replies she would not gain anything out of it.
While interviewing Greenwell, police believe the other two suspects “had a play” that led to the heist. They claim the victim was targeted because they had previously bought cannabis from him. Greenwell admits that after arriving at the apartment complex, he was unable to carry out his plans.
According to authorities, surveillance video captured all four suspects at the apartment complex. The video from the victim’s floor shows that Greenwell was no longer with the gang. The other two male suspects are seen storming into the victim’s flat mere seconds after Robb was permitted in.
The video shows the three suspects rushing out of the flat about 20 seconds after reportedly storming in.
Jessica Robb faces charges of attempted murder, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, aggravated battery, and possession of methamphetamine.
DeShawn Greenwell was charged with conspiring to commit armed robbery.
Both have been booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
